Donor Advised Funds
A Donor Advised Fund is like establishing your own private foundation to support causes you believe in but, by allowing the ACCF to manage it, without the hassles and paperwork that go along with operating a foundation. This is an investment account earmarked exclusively for charitable giving that provides you the opportunity to make grant recommendations to the ACCF when it's convenient for you. It simplifies your charitable giving and allows you to take advantage of tax savings.
ACCF Offers Two Types of Donor Advised Funds
- Donor Advised Endowed Funds
The fund is perpetual in that a Board-approved percentage of the Fund is distributed on an annual basis.
- Donor Advised Non-Endowed Funds
The fund is not perpetual in that income and principal may be distributed in any amount as recommended by the donor as often as quarterly.
Why Start a Donor Advised Fund

- The donor can make gifts to the donor advised fund at any time while also requesting appropriate distribution to individual charities on an annual or quarterly basis. Distributions not requested remain in the Fund.
- The donor can make a local impact - a way to connect Ashland County's most pressing needs and promising opportunities.
- The donor advises ACCF as to distribution from the Fund.
- ACCF is responsible for approving distribution recipients.
